You should want to know that every workout was a successful workout. I personally will not tolerate one workout with lack of progress. If I see there’s no progress, I stop, analyze what I’m doing and make the appropriate changes. There’s a reason for everything in this world, including lack of bodybuilding progress and the number of possible explanations is not infinite. Go to the fundamentals. Either training intentionally enough and or you’re doing too many sets and or too many workouts. There’s no other possibility.
If you are growing stronger every workout, obviously a positive change is taking place in your muscle. That’s how you gauge the success of these workouts, not by pumper soreness. So the point here is keep a training journal. Record the date of each workout. List your body weight at the beginning Enumerate the exercises, list the amount of weight and accurately record the number of reps because even A1 Rep increase can be significant.
